Salary/Pay and Grade Pay - For posts (1,2), the payable salary will be Rs 47,600 - 1,51,100, for posts (3-9), the payable salary will be Rs 44,900 - 1,42,400 , for posts (10,11), the payable salary will be Rs 35,400 - 1,12,400 and for remaining posts, the payable salary will be Rs 29,200 - 92,300 per month. Selection Method - For recruitment in the Staff Selection Commission, the candidate will be selected on the basis of their performance in the computer-based online exam (TIER1 and TIER 2), descriptive exam (writing of Essay/ Letter/ Application), skill test and then personal interview. Candidates must be prepared for these tests.
Syllabus/ Exam Criteria - The computer based exam for SSC CGL will consist of following subjects -
TIER 1
TIER 2
- General Intelligence and Reasoning (50 Marks, 25 Questions)
- General Awareness (50 Marks, 25 Questions)
- Quantitative Aptitude (50 Marks, 25 Questions)
- English Comprehension (50 Marks, 25 Questions).
The total duration of TIER 1 exam will be 60 minutes. Total number of questions will be 100 and total marks will be 200. There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for one wrong answer. The medium for examination will be Hindi and English.

- Mathematical Abilities (30 Questions, 90 Marks)
- Reasoning and General Intelligence (30 Questions, 90 Marks)
- English Language and Comprehension (45 Questions, 135 Marks)
- General Awareness (25 Questions, 75 Marks)
- Computer Knowledge Module (20 Questions, 60 Marks)

The total duration of TIER 2 exam will be 150 minutes. Total number of questions will be 150 and total marks will be 450. There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for one wrong answer. The medium for examination will be Hindi and English.
